The Four Forums Network was established in late 2016. It consists of the four Local Policing Forums in the South Central area.
- Canals Policing Forum
- Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Policing Forum
- South West Inner-City Policing Forum
- Dublin 12 Policing Forum
The purpose of the Network is to share learning across the Forums on tackling local issues, engaging the public and participating in the Joint Policing Committee. The Network holds occasional shared learning and training events. It also commissioned a significant piece of research from the University of Limerick called Building Community Resilience. The research report, launched in December 2019, forms the basis of a strategy to address the question of how communities most affected by anti-social behaviour and crime can build their resilience, and prevent children and young people from going down a path of criminality. The research was funded by Dublin City Council, and the report can be accessed here: http://www.canaction.ie/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Low-Res-Building-Community-Resilience-Report-FINAL.pdf
The Network meets roughly every two months and has two representatives of each Forum attending. It is independently chaired by Peter Dorman of Community Action Network and is supported by Rea Lavelle of Dublin City Council
