With public meetings still unable to take place during the extended Covid restrictions, Local Policing Forums are thinking of new ways to connect with members of the public. We still hold regular management committee meetings online, and have tried to ensure that committee memberships reflect the whole area and that community leaders are able to bring to the Forum any community safety issues that may be causing concern. We have also reached out to our mailing lists to ask people to get in touch if they wish us to highlight anything to An Gárda Siochána, or to Dublin City Council.
Another recent development is that since January 2021, all of the four Local Policing Forums are now fully represented on the Dublin South Central Joint Policing Committee, and input to the JPC report each quarter. This means that persistent community safety issues, that cannot be solved locally, can now be highlighted at a higher level.
